Hello my pretty people

Oh what s this darn weather like??

One day sun then snow and now today rain, sleet and hail the size of maltesers!! Well it is Scotland I'm in can't expect anything less lol! Maybe this time next week the sun will be back, fingers crossed!

Its been busy wee week with me getting orders finished and things ready for others! Even managed a trip to the cinema with hubby and wee naughty food treat too! Yesterday we spent the day sorted the garden, first day to properly weed and de-winter it! The sun was lovely beating on me while weeded, just what I needed!

Today sadly its indoors day! Ok not really that bad, DVDs and crochet with some card making is just perfect lol!

Now I never got a chance to post this last week but as you still have under a week to enter the wee Challenge at Dream Valley Challenges, here it is now

I sneaked into hubby's workshop, stole some MDF and his lil jigsaw to make the Butter fly shapes before turning into mini canvas/scrap pages!

Afternoon my lovelies

Hope all is well out there in your part of blogland and its not too cold either!

Its bitter cold here in my bit of Scotland but at least we haven't had the snow they forecast said, well for now lol! Its been busy for me the past couple of days catching up with orders and sorting through others, but I'm almost back on top and can relax again heee!

Evening all

Happy Mother's Day all you lovely mummies past, present and future! Hope you all got spoiled rotten and got to  get your feet up while everyone rallied around after you!

Well I have just got back form my wee Grannies where we celebrated Mother's Day with a Sunday lunch with her and my wee mummy too! While they enjoyed some wee pink bubbles and the cakes I made the boys enjoyed the football! Love you both and hope you enjoyed your mummy day, cards and wee gifts!

Now its that time again for another wee Challenge at Dream Valley and we have another easy wee theme for you all, perfect for this time of year

Crafty Cardmakers - Altered Food Container xxx

Morning all

Brrrr, its cold today! Raining, dull and cold hmmmm sounds like summer has been and gone!! Typical Scottish weather! Hope where you are is better than here!!

Today I have something a little different for you all, something I've been trying and failing to do for a long time! So I need all your opinions on my wee creation!

This time over on Crafty Cardmakers we want to see you do something that lil bit different

"ALTERED FOOD CONTAINER"

fun or what hee!

I was totally stumped as to what to do and sat staring at this for a good few hours

After a while tho, it started to look like something(whether that was to much staring or me just going mad)

So after a few attempts and some BAKING later, here is what I came up with

Yeah,I tired my hand at making a wee fimo character with a jam jar toadstool lol

What do you think?? Is it ok??

I painted the inside of the jar white, made the toadstool top with fimo formed on the lid the made the wee character following a books instructions for sugar paste characters(thanks mum, it was amazing wee gift)! Then added some lil flowers, glitter and all done hee!

Dream Valley Challenge 8 - Stamp Something xxx

Good afternoon my lovelies

Hope all is well in blogland this wet and wild morning?? Did you all have a lovely weekend?? Do anything nice?? I did, I did heee!

I went to the Ideal Home Show at the SECC and meet the lovely Greg Wallace! He is a wee sweetie! Was too awe struck I couldn't get me phone out my bag quick enough for a quick wee picture! Sad?? Yes I am! The show its self was rather rubbish! Was full of people trying to sell Gas and Electricity(cant remember seeing that many stalls last time) plus a whole section full of make-up, jewellery and ladies stuff! Weird I thought for a Home Show!

After the show we came home, took the dog out and decided to go to the cinema to see The Hangover 2! It was so funny!! I loved the 1st and couldn't wait to see this and wasn't disappointed! The 1st was still the better but well worth a viewing!

Ok enough of me, I have sad news too!!

My lovely lil Dt Fi is leaving us, sob, sob, sob! She is going to be running a wee Challenge blog herself now and I wish her all the LUCK with it! Going miss you sweetie!

I hope you are all having another sunny warm day out there where you are! Its beautiful again here in Scotland, feels like summer!!

This time over on Crafty Cardmakers we have a fab new funky lil Challenge for you all

MACHINES AND STEAMPUNK

Ehhhh??? some of you may be saying and that including me till I did a lot of searching and a lot of advice form the Dt!! Here is just some info on what Steampunk is

"Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s.[1] Specifically, steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain—that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; in other words, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. This technology may include such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne or real technologies like the computer but developed earlier in an alternate history.

Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" for such technology as dirigibles, analog computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace's Analytical engine.

Steampunk is often associated with cyberpunk. They have considerable influence on each other and share a similar fan base, but steampunk developed as a separate movement. Apart from time period and level of technology, the main difference is that steampunk settings tend to be less dystopian.

Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk."

To me this style just screams Tim Holtz with a gems and jewels and the insides of things, like all the workings showing!! If you can kinda get me heee

So I decided to make a wee sorta canvas, but after figuring I had none of them the next best thing was to pinch some wood from Hubby's workshop!! A 8x8 piece of MDF later and it was time to get messy!

Kinda funky I thought hee!!

I got out my distress inks, some old orange/brown papers and embossing powders and just went wild! Used some of my jewellery making bits, an old watch(for insides to show) and anything else I sorta thought would look ok?? Oh and the fab wee image of Lady Audrey that I found on Esty!

What do you think?? I would love any opinion you have on it!! As I've never done anything like this, I would really like some feed back please!!
