Napkin Card xx

Afternoon lovelies

I hope this wee post finds you all well??
We're just back from a wee weekend away in the "minion" to Alnwick! Its such a beautiful place and really recommend it to everyone to visit!

Now yesterday on Create and Craft they showed off the new Christmas Create-a-Card Dies and I missed the show but just had to show you some wee creations

made using the Christmas Wreath

made using Over the Rooftops

and this is Christmas Village

I loved all of these new ones and couldn't pick a favourite! Tho this is may favourite card I made

a fab wee Napkin Card

Here's how to make it!

Napkin Card

Supplies
12x12 card stock plus extra for the wrap
    Pattern Paper
    Dies, ink and embellishments

    Instructions
  • Score the 12x12” piece of card stock at  3" and 9". Turn paper 90 degrees and score again at 3" and 9". Fold the card on the scoreline
  • Mark the centre of the card with dot. Fold each corner to the centre, creasing each score line
  • This is optional but this is the time to start inking the sides
  • Fold the card as below creasing the folds,

then fold the sides to form these wee triangles

Cut the following squares out of the patterned paper sheets :
Two 5 1/2" squares
Two 3 1/4" square
 One 3 3/4" square
One 2 3/4" square.
Then cut these squares into triangles, the cut the triangles into smaller triangles
  • Decorate the card base with the triangles and decorate the centre of the card too
  • Next you make the card wrap, using 2 lengths of the card stock and patterned papers and ribbon to tie. I used to lengths of card at 5x2” and the patterned paper just smaller leaving a border.
  • Finish by decorating as you wish adding embellishments and a little sentiment to finish!
The Create-a-Card Dies are perfect for the centre of these cards and work so well with them! I hope my mini tutorial gets you making one of these fab Napkin Cards!

I you make one please share it with me!

Well until next time

Christmas Create a Card Samples xx

Me again!!

Yeah I know two posts in one day and just after each other too!
Will I wanted to share with you the amazing  Create a Card Christmas Dies from Crafters Companion!

This is just a few of the cards I made using the dies but you can make so much more with them! Not only are they simple to use they make a card so much easier! No more deciding all the images and bits just gotta pick your colours and papers!

My favourite is the O'Holy Night just because it works in any colour tone and when you think of Christmas I always think of the Nativity scene!

but the Softly Falling is a close second!

You can find the dies here on the Crafters Companion website where you can find all 6 Christmas dies! Check out the fabulous designs that I know will change your Christmas Cards this year!

Will that tea is calling my name now!

Something Different xx

Hello lovely people

I do hope you are all well and enjoy this spot of sunshine we seem to have sneaked in before Autumn hits us! Good days for washing on the line and relaxing with a brew outside!

Today I want to share with you a little card I made for a Retirement! Now before I share, this is what I was asked to make

"some kind of card, maybe like a lock box, you know a Key safe???"

hmmmm as you can see wasn't much for me to go on! But on further discussion and even some pictures from them I figured out what they meant!

So it turns out that the lady is a bit of a stickler for making sure a Key Safe box id always lock or closed at work and she's always telling them off if they don't do it!

What you think??
Took me a while to figure out what to do but once I got started it was easy!
The box was made by hand and just under an A5 card, the keys and sentiment I cheated with and used my trusty silhouette to cut and the little key pegs are rolled bits of card with a piece of card candi on the end!

I would like to enter the following Challenges
The Crafty Blogger - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy Friday - More than 1 fold
Robyn's Fetish - Anything Goes
Crafting at the Weekend - Anything Goes

I hope you like my wee key safe as much as the lady did that received it! I do love a challenge and its great when someone asks me to create something different! Can't wait for the next one hee

Well gotta get ready, the old eyes are getting tested at later so gotta walk the dog and have a brew in the sunshine before popping out heee

Time for a Wedding

Good morning all

I know, I know its been forever but I could fob you off with my excuses but lets just say I'm a BAD blogger with health issues lol!

Now anyways, how are you all? I do hope you are enjoying the sunshine and the holidays? Up here the kids go back to school this week and it'll be quieter without my nephew popping in and out!

So this fortnight at Dream Valley Challenges we have a nice wee easy crafty Challenge for you all to play along with WEDDING! A perfect theme for this time of year as there seems to be one every weekend up here!

I was asked to make this wee card at the end of May, but it took me a few good attempts to make it! The colours that they wanted to match the bride and grooms theme was just not my usual! But in the end and after my 3rd try I got the colours to sit well with each other! I hope it isn't too "in your face"??

I would like to enter this into these Challenges
I (heart) Promarkers - Fancy Folds
Crafting at The Weekend - Anything Goes
My Sheri Crafts - Shaped Cards
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Well time to finish some more orders before we head off at the end of the week!
Take care everyone

Winged things xx

Afternoon all

Well what a fabulous few days we've had away in the "minion" (caravan) enjoying the beautiful weather and heat while relaxing and enjoy some nice long country walks in Loch Ken

The site we stayed at was so quiet and picturesque, with stunning scenery all around! The walks were rather hilly for me but we still enjoyed them, finding some geocaches and making a few of our own! For those who don't know what I'm talking about check out here, tho shhhhhhhh don't let the muggles know heeee

Now onto the Challenge this time over at Dream Valley Challenges, with another easy theme Things with Wings! Nothing beats that theme for me, one of my all time favourites!

I made the card a few weeks ago as an order for someone who didn't want their Granddaughter to feel left out when the new Baby was born! Plus she loved fairies and purple so what else could I use but this stunning wee Some Odd Girl Rainbow Fairy coloured with promakers

I would like to enter the following Challenges
Crafty Ribbons - Use Ribbon
Crafting for all Seasons - Things with Wings
Polkadoodles - Things with Wings
Allsorts Challenge - Purple Passion

Well I'm off to unpack and get my washes done while we have the perfect washing day weather!
