Hope all is well in blogland? Have you had a nice wee weekend??
I have had a lovely quiet weekend, full of tiding, knitting and crafting today!! Yes I did say Knitting!!!
I am the only female in my Mum's side of the family that cant knit! My mum tried for years but I just never got the hang of it!! I would either knit too tight or really lose and then I would always drop stitched everywhere! So after seeing that ad on the telly for the wee 99p mag to teach one how to knit, I took the plunge!
I have knitted all of 7 rows hee!! Woop woop, so proud of me!! No dropped stitches and tension seems fine! I'll let you all know how it goes ..... fingers crossed!
Today I finished off some orders I was doing including this wee engagement box card below. I really enjoyed doing this as was a bit different from the normal boxes I do! Hope you like

Ingredients;12x12 white card
Papermania 12x12 paper
nesties
glitter glue
everything else is from stash
I made all the wee embellishments by hand and added lots of gems and glitter from my stash! The BIG ring is a keyring that I got online!

I've been sorting the Design team blog today, getting all the bits ready for the dt and the challenges all picked! Then I was allowing the dt that I have to be authors/admin on the blog when I accidentally deleted myself from it!! Hee how stupid can I actually be hee!!
I've got my fingers crossed that one of the team will be able to add me back in! If not I'll need to start all over again hee! I'm going blame all the glitter in my brain!
Off now before I do something else like delete everything!

Hi Melly. This is absoutely gorgeous. Love the colours and all the embellishments you have used. Your boxes always turn out beautiful. Sounds like you had a busy day. Can relate to the knitting, my mum tells me I am a very tight knitter and I was knitting a scarf for Hollie recently, started with fifteen stitches and ended up with ten. Mum got the scarf to redo and Hollie loves it. Take Care. Donna

Mel this is absolutely stunning. I love the bit of crystal in the middle, just stunning. Reminds me of the wedding card I made my Ems, with a three tier crystal cake in the centre and my Sister's exploding box with a crystal fairy in the middle. It makes a card into a gift, and something I am sure they will treasure for a very long time.

ReplyDeleteI share your frustrations with knitting - I have recently taken up crochet, and find that I don't lose stitches and can actually get a lot done. Maybe I'll get that mag too - think I've also seen the ad!
