Vintage Wardrobe xx

Happy Wednesday

How are we all doing this week? Are you getting on well? Staying safe?
I know its so hard but when the sun is shining it does make this Lockdown and shielding that little bit easier! And so does buying cactus lol

Today I wanted t share a little something I made for this weeks challenge over at Use Your Craft Stash on Facebook

Again this week we have an Anything Goes theme so I dug through my paper stash and found these vintage inspired Kaiser Crafts papers and toppers called Sage and Grace and turned it into a Vintage Wardrobe using an SVG file

I used some Distress Ink in Weathered Wood for a soft subtle look on the papers and card. Used real working hinges and finished with a little clasp to hold it closed. I might make a small scene to go inside but for now I'm really pleased with it!

I'm slowly working through some cards for big Birthdays coming up and also playing Animal Crossing when I can get away with it. But today is for crafting then enjoying the sunshine!

Take care all, stay safe and craft

Altenew Box Magazine xx

Afternoon you lovely lot
Are you all well, staying safe? I can't believe this craziness is still going on but at least we are trying to make the best of it

I've been taking time to get the last of my work done, make some cards to add to my own stash and also play with my Nintendo Switch Lite! Yes I treated myself to a switch and Animal Crossing with mu Christmas and Birthday vouchers I was hoarding for some strange reason lol. So now I'm happily created my own wee world while the real one is mad!!

Today I wanted to share a littler something I was so so so pleased with and can't believe how they came out! What am I talking about????

YES!!

I was lucky to be asked to create some pieces to go along with the kit that comes with the magazine and the only brief was Wedding!

So as you know that's sooooo me! Not only that, I had my brothers invites on my desk so added their names fro the 'couple'! Sadly my brother and Jamielee to change their Wedding to next year so seeing their wee names in print sorta helps lol

look at the group photo!! Just makes me so happy to see those makes look so fab

the main Invite, I used the layer stamps but only the first layer and coloured with my pens then added a printed vellum overlay! Makes it look soft but the copper makes it all pop!

I also made a cute little favour box and again used the stamps but this time layered them to create the perfect Altenew floral flower to decorate the box

You'll have to see the magazine for yourself to see all the fab creations the rest of the team came up with! Plus the kit is AMAMZING! that stamp set alone I'd buy it for hehehehe

Apart from working on some fun pieces I've still been keeping up with our wee Challenge Facebook group, have you checked it out yet??
Its great for getting you to use up your old stash and see what other have been doing. Its bad tho for reminding you what you might have in your stash that you've forgot hehehehe

Here's what I made for the All at Sea Challenge last week

the wool was odds and ends from other projects and the pattern a very old magazine one! So Its not just paper crafts! Why not join in?? This week is Anything Goes and we can't wait to see what you've been making!

Well, until next time

Happy 75th Birthday

hello lovelies
I do hope you all had a lovely weekend? Staying home safe and trying not to go stir crazy?? Did you manage some crafting?

We had a quiet weekend here, with a spot of crochet and hubby sorting his workshop. He did manage to get me some pretty plants but with the freezing temperatures at night we've popped them in a cold frame until next weekend! He even got me a Camellia!!!! I've wanted one for years so a very happy girl indeed!!

P.S the Camellia is in the log hut

During the week my Mother-in-laws lovely friend (and mine) turned 75 and I knew she needed a SPECIAL card to send her. I had an image in my head of what I wanted to create so dug through my old stamps to find a certain one, that something special ................. NOTHING! I can't find it anywhere!! But I did come across some older Digi stamps and started to change my ideas into something different

I used to love creating these Tri-fold Cards and always thought they looked so Spectacular especially for a someones Special Birthday. The last time I made one I used it to enter a certain competition

The digi stamps are from Jeremiah Ketner (not sure you can still get them as they are at least 4 years old) and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Classiques. The hair might be a bit dark but I feel my skin tones are getting better. Plus the hair has to match a certain granddaughter for her!

The gorgeous papers are from Trimcraft First Edition Forever Free layered together, my old Spellbinder nesties for the frames with lots of Mulberry Flowers and gems to finish

Well I'm busy working on some work bits this week that I gave up on after it not going to plan?? But you'll have to wait to see what I'm talking about lol

Have a great day and hope your week is magical

Festival Makes xx

Hello you lovely lot

are you keeping well?? Finding time to have some crafty fun?? I've been creating some Birthday Cards and making some fun pieces that I can't share but I know you will love when I do (well I love them lol)

Now my latest makes are from my magazine piece in Simply Cards and Papercrafts 204

I was asked to create some pieces that you could use for a Festival Themed Party before all this happened!! And now it just seems strange to share but don't let that stop you having a try at making some of them!! Just imagine the invites you could send out once all this craziness is over to celebrate seeing your love ones

In this latest edition I show you how to create the little pop-up Invite and have templates to help you along the way, including the tree and tent

You can also create some table decorations using the templates creating some Drinks Tents to decorate along with some fun Tent Treat Boxes

I used the lovely Paper Addict Tropical Bliss 12x12 papers from Trimcraft to create all the pieces and they have the summer vibes I know we all can't wait for!

Hope you get you copy soon and create some of your own Festival Theme pieces! Don't forget let me know and share on the Simply Cards and Papercrafts Facebook Group!

Take care and stay safe

Let's start again ....

Wow! It's be a very long time since I last blogged, almost 2 years exactly!

So much has happened, so many changes, sadness, happiness and endless trying to get back to where I was. Last week I decided it was time to start all over again and that means restarting my blog, my place to share and show my crafts, life and adventures

So le's start again ....

Hi my name is Mel, I live with my amazing hubby and spend my days doing what I love! In October 2018 I became very ill! It was the day before my husbands Birthday and I spent almost a month in hospital
Over the following days weeks and months I have learned to walk again, talk again and get back to crafting all while being left blind in my left eye. I still struggle to walk somedays, word full sentences and use my left side but I do try and that's what matters

While I was recuperating those first few weeks I tried to crochet as I knew anything that kept my hands moving would help. I created a crochet blanket using whatever wool was in my basket and learned a new stitch for each row along the way

It might not look pretty, the colours may clash but that there was something my body produced after all the drama!! Plus its sooooo heavy, the weight would kill me to move! It is 2x2 metres

It was sad every morning walking by my craft room so I closed the door but could always feel the need to go in! Things slowly got better for me and I stepped back in and got back into my magazine work, taking on one or two allocations at a time. It was just what I needed to get me back into work and the enjoyment of being in my craft room again.

We had many days out away from public and crowds and I slowly started to try hill walking again. It would exhaust me so easily and would spend days after just trying to get my body to want to move. But I did it and by October and the anniversary of the of becoming ill I was standing slightly lopsided and talking better! We even had a charity bake day in the house while hubby abseiled of the Forth Rail Bridge. Between us we made over £1300 for charity!!

Sadly in November we lost our fur baby Tillie. The arthritis was taking over her poor baby and she began to struggle. We had one last adventure with her up to Glencoe and made some memories before we took away her pain.

Although it was so hard to do it was the best thing for our girl and when I look back I know she hung on longer for us! I miss seeing her lying at the bottom of our bed while the sun shines in, snoring away and having puppy dreams!

We started 2020 up in Glencoe with fireworks and beautiful scenery, walking some more and building up my mobility. Planning and trying to be positive

The year started amazingly up until all this craziness began, a trip to the Isle of Skye for my Birthday,  trips to our favourite place working on more fun pieces and trying more walking! Making plans to go here and there and looking forward to my brothers Wedding. Now bam!! I'm stuck at home but it just means that all the adventures and plans will just have to wait! We WILL get there, see places and do all the things! Plus find a way for my brother and his partner to have an amazing day, whenever it happens!!
___________________________________________________________

After all that, are you still there??
Want to see some craftiness now?? I think it's time ........

My lovely friend Angela has started an fab little Facebook Challenge Use Your Craft Stash!. And exactly like the name, that's what we want you to do! Dig out all those crafty bits you've been hoarding and try using them.
And with Angela, Carole, Karen and myself we want to get you all crafting again

This weeks theme is Things with Wings

I used a SVG file I have had for years and wanted to try Boho Butterflies, some very very very old Core'dinations core 12x12 cardstock, vellum coloured with my trusty Spectrum Noir pens and used Gilding wax that must be at least 5 years old to add bronze details

I feed some lights up in inside the stem of the body and bunched them in the lampshade and its all set to go. The lights are some fab wee ones I got from Amazon meant for wine bottles and just perfect for this

Hope you will join in the challenge and dig into your own stash of goodies to create something!

Thanks again for staying and reading this HUGE "first" post and I do hope to see you again soon!

I do hope this finds you all well? Have you been up to anything nice? Any fab adventures? Me neither lol!
Its been all work work work here as well as finishing off our bedroom and having time with hubby! We did manage a quiet weekend and some lunch out but back to work as normal! Hopefully we'll get some mini adventures this weekend if the weather is as nice as they say it will be???? Hmmmmm yeah we'll see

Today I wanted to share a "little" project I made over the past few days! I say "little" as well its anything but!

What you think?? I wanted something a little different and knew I just had to try this out! The digi image Blooming Lovely is 7 inches tall and coloured up with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I then matched the flowers in the arrangement to her outfit

I added one of the sentiments from the Time For Tea Design new release and sprayed the flowers with a sparkle spray that you can just make out in the pictures!

Before I go here's a wee peek at out lovely finished bedroom

If only I could keep hubby and the dog out and it would stay all lovely with no hairs everywhere and man stuff lol!

Well off to finish work, have a super day everyone

Magazines and Gift Boxes xx

Afternoon you lovely lot

Hope this finds you all well?
Did you survive the hour less in bed today?? Or you still like me and walking about like a Zombie today? I could possibly still be getting over a fab Saturday Wedding Dress shopping for my future Sister in Law and all the family! Lunch and cocktails was a must!!

Now have any of you see the Simply Cards and Papercraft 175 Magazine yet

little me was lucky enough to make some fab Gift Box ideas for this. I really loved making these and getting to try a few ideas I've wanted to do for a while! There's even a few tutorials for you all to try them for yourself

Here's a peek

What one do your like?? I adore the Bottle Gift Box, just perfect to brighten up that Wine gift for a friend or family

I decorated mine with die-cuts but you could use stamps or anything form your crafty stash!

My other favourite was the Drawer Box! Using the same colour theme with Kraft card and colouring up the Bouquet Girl from Time for Tea Designs!

Shes perfect for this wee Gift Box as she suits any important Celebration not just Birthdays! I coloured her up with my Spectrum Noirs and the papers through all the pieces are Pebbles Heart of Home

Hope you pick up your copy of the magazine or get it here and you'll find more amazing craft projects and plenty to inspire you!

Have a great Sunday and week to come
